Catania’s Live Local, Give Local Shines a Light on Community Partnerships and Giving Back

After three years, and through the help of countless community organizations, Catania has raised over $23,000 for the South Brevard Sharing Center

At Catania Product Development, our work is fueled by a passion for people and sustainability. These core principles drive every aspect of our operations, from the innovative products we design to the meaningful partnerships we cultivate. As proud residents of Brevard County, Florida—a community known for its spirit and collaboration—we felt the need to channel our dedication and passion into giving back to the region and its residents, who make this such a wonderful place to call home.

That’s why, three years ago, we embarked on a journey to give back in a bigger way and launched Catania’s Live Local, Give Local Charity Auction to help raise funds for the South Brevard Sharing Center (SBSC).

And what a journey it has been.

Live Local, Give Local provides a platform for local businesses and individuals to give back to their own community. The event showcases local food and entertainment, while attendees bid on local auction items, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting a local charity. Since its inception, Catania has raised over $23,000 for the SBSC.

“We are beyond grateful to the Catania team for hosting yet another successful event,” said Pamela Huffman, Executive Director of the South Brevard Sharing Center. “Together, through partnerships like these, we are creating a ripple effect of support, strength, and empowerment for families striving towards self-sufficiency. This generosity is making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.”

And that’s another remarkable thing about Live Local, Give Local—the spotlight it shines on community partnerships. The total value of this year’s charity auction items was over $10,000, contributed by over thirty individuals or organizations from the Space Coast. This spirit of collaboration was captured by Catania’s CEO, Stefanie Catania: “In Brevard, everybody wants to help everybody, the community wants to grow together, the community wants to get better together. Local is a very powerful thing in Brevard County.”

The most recent Live Local, Give Local, held on December 7, 2023 at Groundswell Startups, raised $10,500 for SBSC. Catania was proud to present one BIG check to SBSC Executive Director, Pamela Huffman.

Part of the mission of the SBSC is to empower clients to achieve self-sufficiency. The $10,000 donation from Catania Product Development in 2022 seeded the foundation of the SBSC Workforce Readiness program. This program provides training for resume writing, interviewing skills, and general workplace social skills. SBSC works with partners to provide employment opportunities that lead to higher wages and upward mobility. All proceeds from the 2023 Live Local, Give Local event were also allocated to this program which aims to give people a hand up, not a hand out.

In addition, the SBSC supports, strengthens and empowers families. Assistance includes food, clothing, household items and financial vouchers for prescriptions, utilities, rent and other miscellaneous items through case-managed services. Seasonally, the SBSC provides food and gifts over the holiday season to qualified residents.

In 2022, SBSC prevented 307 households from homelessness while contributing over $119,000 to individuals needing rental or utilities assistance. You can learn more about their mission at
